• Power Team profile details: where you are a team member, the information and images you choose to submit, such as your name, nickname, biography, chosen cause, social media handles and photographs.
• Media and partner details: the contact and organisation information you provide when enquiring about media, sponsorship, charity or partnership opportunities.
• Technical and usage information: information such as your IP address, browser and device type, and information collected through cookies and similar technologies (see section 10).

We try to collect only the personal information that is adequate, relevant and not excessive for the purposes set out below.

3. How We Collect It

We collect personal information directly from you when you complete a form, subscribe, donate, submit a profile, or contact us, and automatically through your use of the website. Where practical and required by law, we collect personal information directly from the data subject.

We process your personal information only where we have a lawful basis to do so under POPIA. This includes processing that is necessary to respond to or carry out a request you have made, processing carried out with your consent, processing necessary for our legitimate interests in operating and promoting the event, and processing required to comply with a legal obligation.

• To process and acknowledge donations.
• To manage sponsorship, charity, media and partnership enquiries.
• To create and publish approved Power Team profiles on our website, live portal and social media, with your consent.
• To send you event news, updates and newsletters where you have subscribed or otherwise consented.
• To operate, promote, broadcast and record the event, including for the purpose of the world-record application.
• To maintain the security of, and improve, our website.
• To comply with our legal, regulatory and record-keeping obligations.

6. Direct Marketing

We will only send you direct electronic marketing where you have consented, or where the law otherwise permits it. Every marketing message includes a simple way to opt out, and you may withdraw your consent or unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us. We will not continue to send you marketing after you have opted out.

7. Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with:

• Operators and service providers who process information on our behalf, such as email, payment, hosting, IT and analytics providers. They are required to keep your information confidential and secure and to process it only on our instructions.

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to help it function, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings, although some features of the site may not work as intended if you do.

Our Newsfeed pages embed content directly from our Facebook page using Facebook's official page plugin. When those pages load, Facebook may set its own cookies and receive information about your visit, including your IP address, in accordance with Facebook's own privacy policy. We do not control those cookies. The same applies to embedded video players and maps used elsewhere on the site.

11. Filming, Photography and Live Streaming

The Bigg Pull is a public event that is filmed, photographed and broadcast live. If you attend or take part, you may appear in this footage. By attending or participating, you acknowledge that this footage may be used to record, promote and broadcast the event across our website, live portal, broadcast partners and social media.

12. Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or for as long as required or permitted by law. When we no longer need it, we will delete, destroy or de-identify it in a secure manner.

13. Children's Information

We do not knowingly collect the personal information of children without the consent of a competent person (such as a parent or guardian). If you believe we have collected a child's information without the required consent, please contact us so we can address it.
