About The Bigg Pull
The Bigg Pull is a purpose-led national initiative designed to unite people around what we share, not what divides us. In this epic adventure, a Power Team will pull a truck from Centurion to Cape Town over 40 days, pushing their physical, mental, and spiritual limits.
The Challenge Led by legendary Wayne Price “the Gentle Giant” and his experienced team, the Power Team will face scorching heat, pouring rain, and gruelling physical demands. They'll take turns pulling the truck, resting in a luxurious bus waiting for when it's their turn to get pulling again. Food, medical supplies, and water will be fetched by support vehicles, allowing the team to focus on the task at hand.
Watch live daily as they make their way from capital to coast, with live cameras and drones capturing every moment. The journey will take them through the heart of South Africa, and though the route is yet to be confirmed, they will pass through towns like Middelburg, Steynsburg, and Beaufort West.
Follow and vote for your favourite Power Team member and meet him or her when passing through YOUR town! Follow the journey, support and encourage the Power Team, and get ready to be inspired.
The Bigg Pull is more than just an adventure - it's a movement to unite South Africans around our shared values and strengths. By coming together to support this Power Team, we're reminded that we're stronger when we focus on what unites us, not what divides us.

THE BIGG PULL:
THE FIRST JOURNEY (2003)
Back in 2003 — 23 years ago — Wayne Price, known as _“The Gentle Giant”_, led the very first walk of The Bigg Pull. With the backing of Hands On and a seasoned team from Gentle Giant Promotions, he gathered 20 strength athletes and set out on a journey that would become legendary.
For 35 days, the team walked from Centurion to Cape Town, pulling a truck km by km, rain or shine. There were storms that soaked them to the bone, blazing sun that drained their water bottles dry, and long nights where sore feet made every step feel impossible. But they kept going.
Along the way, miracles happened. Strangers handed them food and water, children ran out of their homes to cheer, and whole towns gathered to welcome them. For the athletes themselves, the pull was as much inner as outer — each carried personal stories, wounds, and hopes, and the road stripped them raw until only honesty was left. Friendships formed, tears were shed, and lives were touched in ways no one expected.
It wasn’t just a test of strength. It was a story of people pushing past limits together, led by Wayne Price and his vision, and supported by a team that knew how to turn su ering into something meaningful.
That walk in 2003 lit the spark. Now, more than two decades later, The Bigg Pull returns to remind us what happens when ordinary people pull together.
